History of Culture Gardens

Our Story

Owner Sara Thompson is a NY transplant originally from Reno, Nevada. Her background is in interior lighting and hospitality. She studied philosophy & psychology at UNR and managed the family business for her grandfather, a residential lighting showroom established in the 70's. Before moving to NY she operated three 5-star Airbnb properties for several years. It was this endeavor that allowed her the freedom to transplant across the country where her husband is from, to start a small homestead with her family. Aside from the flower farm they raise chickens as well as heritage turkeys.

Sara has a garden coach certification thru the Gardenary program, and creates low-maintenance organic edible gardens. The flower farm was established in 2024 to offer a unique and joyful place for our community to shop local. In opening the Bloom Saloon the goal was to bring the Wild West to NY, with a flowery twist. From their home grown flowers to local honey and traditional made local soaps, there's something for everyone at the saloon!

Our Philosophy

At Culture Gardens, we believe in using organic and sustainable practices with eco-friendly materials, reducing plastic use as much as possible.

We are strongly against the use of AI.

We are strongly against solar complexes on farm land.

We believe that growing food should be intentional for every household, and that the skills of our forefathers should not be lost in the chaos of the modern world but instead made as cultural staples.

Our Services

  • Fresh flowers (by the bucket or bouquets)
  • Seasonal bouquet subscriptions
